Custom Panel Replacement

When a long-time customer reached out and asked, “Can you help us match and replace a 25-year-old custom-stained and milled fir panel in our entry?”
The answer was, of course, yes.
Matching existing millwork isn’t just about replacing a damaged piece. Over time, wood ages, stain deepens, and natural light shifts the overall tone. The challenge is making a new panel blend into something that’s been in place for decades.
We carefully measured the original profile and replicated the custom milling so every detail aligned. From there, it was all about the finish. Working alongside Angus Painting, we tested and adjusted the stain until the colour matched the surrounding panels as closely as possible.
The result is a panel that fits naturally into the space — like it’s always been there.
Projects like this are a reminder that renovation isn’t always about changing everything. Sometimes it’s about respecting what’s already there and making it whole again.
